Prior Design Challenges:
• Content was not optimized for new users (What is Upwork Enterprise? What can I use it for?), or particularly useful for experienced users (How can I access previously hired freelancers or saved freelancers? How are my colleagues using Upwork?)
• Lack of expectation setting (What happens next? What's a Talent Cloud? How does this work?)
• No clear call to action or path for users to take
• Freelance talent was lost at the bottom of the page
• Lack of personalization to users' specific needs
New Design Goals:
• Provide clear explanation of Upwork Enteprise, how it can be used, and how it works
• Empower users to take action by providing them the content and tools needed (freelancers, categories, subcategories)
• Bring freelance talent to the forefront
• Provide a higher level "white-glove" assistance for new users
• Continually learn about our users and personalize the experience for their needs
My Contribution:
• Designed multiple concepts for testing
• Worked with our lead researcher to define the research plan, conduct in-depth qualitative interviews, and synthesize results
• Iterated, refined, and delivered final responsive designs based on research and team feedback
• Worked with Product Management, Marketing and Engineering to define page logic
• Collaborated with Visual Design to ensure alignment with current style guide/patterns
• Tested page design in dev environment, filed bugs and delivered punch list of items to be fixed
